About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Research Nurse / Clinical Research Practitioner to join our Clinical Research Facility (CRF) Oncology Research Team at St George's Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage an agreed Oncology Solid Cancers clinical research portfolio at St George's Hospital NIHR CRF.
  • Work collaboratively with research teams and the wider multidisciplinary team in the management of clinical trials patients and be accountable for achieving local and national targets.
  • Take delegated responsibility from clinicians for clinical decision making and work closely with investigators and multidisciplinary staff.
  • Facilitate study set-up, identify suitable patients, collect data, interview, support and monitor patients, and perform data entry.
  • Provide advice and information to patients, acting as their advocate, and enable them to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical trials.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with a valid NMC pin number.
  • Relevant post-registration programme.
  • ENB 998 or a professionally recognized equivalent teaching course.
  • Good Clinical Practice Certificate or willingness to be trained in GCP.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Registration on the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) Clinical Research Practitioner Accredited Register or working towards.
  • Experience in clinical research, formal or informal teaching of patients and staff, and working as a preceptor/facilitator.
  • Experience in ECGs, spirometry, and phlebotomy.
  • Participation in clinical or nursing research.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Well-developed clinical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload.
  • Competent use of relevant software, specifically spreadsheets.
  • Awareness of GCP, clinical research methodology, and treatment protocols.
