Key Responsibilities- Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate Research Nursing Care
You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating expert research nursing care for patients attending our Department who have been or have the potential to be recruited onto a clinical trial programme.
Facilitate the Production of Good Quality ResearchYou will facilitate the production of good quality research by working closely with study principal investigators, sponsors, and patients to ensure the successful delivery of clinical trials.
Recruit and Follow Up PatientsYou will be responsible for recruiting to, and following up, patients within studies, ensuring that they receive high-quality care and that their needs are met.
Ensure Patient SafetyYou will ensure that there is sufficient skill mix of staff for patient safety during clinical trials, and that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent harm to patients.
Assist in Clinical TrialsYou will assist in clinical trials, including venepuncture and cannulation of volunteers when necessary, and maintain accurate documentation in clinical trial documents and patient notes.
Participate in AuditsYou will participate in audits and suggest any changes to improve standards, ensuring that our Department remains compliant with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and other relevant regulations.
Education and Training- Assist in the Education and Support of Healthcare Professionals
You will assist in the education and support of healthcare professionals to enable them to care for clinical trial patients, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
Maintain an Up-to-Date Knowledge of Research-Related TopicsYou will maintain an up-to-date knowledge of research-related topics, particularly those related to clinical trials, and provide teaching and development to the nursing team and students.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in clinical research, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to be able to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) at all times.
