About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Research Nurse to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will play a critical role in the delivery of high-quality clinical research studies, working closely with our multidisciplinary research team to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen, coordinate, and recruit eligible patients for clinical research studies
  • Conduct clinical tasks such as venepuncture, ECG, and administration of medications
  • Meticulously record data points and deliver interventions according to specific study protocols
  • Ensure patient safety and maintain high levels of quality assurance
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent quality clinical research
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse on the NMC Register (RN1/RN2)
  • Professional knowledge acquired at degree level and supplemented by specialist training
  • Evidence of ongoing commitment to professional development and staying current with advancements in clinical research and nursing practices
  • Experience of working as a qualified nurse with previous NHS experience for at least 2 years
  • Experience in Clinical Research
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • GCP certificate
  • HTA certificate
  • Experience of electronic data capture
  • Experience teaching, assessing, and supervising others in a clinical setting
Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficient in conducting clinical tasks including venepuncture, cannulation, serial sampling, ECG, and administration of medications
  • Ability to process biologic samples according to protocols
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with complex and sensitive situations
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and MS Office tools (Word, Excel)
