Noble Recruiting is seeking an experienced Administrative Officer to join our team in Basildon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for administering all aspects of Council Tax billing and benefits processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day administration of Council Tax billing and benefits processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Interpretation of Council Tax and Benefits legislation, ensuring processes and decisions align with law and policy guidelines.
  • Administer the Local Council Tax Support Scheme, making decisions on Council Tax liability, exemptions, discounts, relief, and Housing Benefit entitlement.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the property and taxpayer database, including Housing Benefits and LCTS data.
  • Maintain awareness of current legislation, policy, and guidance relating to Council Tax, Housing Benefits, and Local Council Tax Support.
  • Undertake enquiries to identify exemptions, discounts, and relief from council tax and evaluate household details relating to Housing Benefit / Local Council Support claims.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a benefits section or similar environment dealing with income-related assessments.
  • Good working knowledge of Council Tax and Housing Benefits law and procedures.
