Position Overview

This is a senior role within the Tennis Team. Candidates must possess a valid First Aid certificate and the following qualifications:

  • RPT Level 2, LTA Level 2 or Equivalent.
  • For those not yet qualified at Level 2, please refer to our Level 1 Tennis Coach position.

Our dedicated and professional Tennis Team is committed to delivering a high-quality tennis program for Neilson guests of all ages and skill levels.

We are primarily seeking full-season coaches. However, we will consider candidates with shorter availability, prioritizing those with the most suitable qualifications and availability.

Mark Petchey, a former world No. 80 and coach to Andy Murray, has shaped our tennis program, integrating extensive technical and tactical expertise.

We collaborate with Adrian Rattenbury, founder of RPT Europe, to provide our Tennis Coaches with top-tier training and our guests with proven methods to enhance their game.

Tennis Program Highlights:

Private Coaching: Guests can schedule one-on-one sessions with our coaches for personalized skill development.

Premium Tennis: This program caters to regular players seeking intensive coaching, with sessions lasting two hours daily for groups of up to eight.

Tennis for Juniors & Teens: Our specific Junior/Teen Tennis program accommodates kids aged six to seventeen, with sessions running multiple times per week during peak season.

Tennis for Kids: Children as young as two can experience tennis through our Kid's Club program, featuring engaging tennis-based games.

Tennis Weeks with Mark Petchey: Throughout the season, Mark Petchey will host exclusive Tennis weeks, offering guests the chance to receive expert tips and play alongside him.

Pickleball: In select resorts, both adults and children can participate in our inclusive Pickleball program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional tennis coaching aligned with the Neilson program.
  • Design sessions tailored to the experience and skill levels of both adults and children.
  • Organize and manage a program that includes group coaching, free play, social tennis, weekly tournaments, and private lessons.
  • Actively promote the tennis program to boost participation.
  • Monitor and maintain tennis supplies effectively.
  • Promptly inform the line manager when supplies need replenishing.
  • Assist in training new or seasonal coaches to ensure they can deliver the Neilson tennis program competently.
  • Uphold the highest standards of health and safety.
  • Advise guests on the safe and practical use of all equipment.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance, repair, and security of all Neilson Tennis equipment.
  • Ensure that the appearance of the tennis areas consistently meets guest expectations.
  • Organize and host social events and briefings.
  • Be prepared to move between resorts based on operational needs.
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to assist with various duties as directed by your line manager.
  • Conduct airport transfers, providing guests with excellent, personable, and efficient service.

First Aid Certification:

A valid First Aid certificate is mandatory for all Neilson Active roles. Your certificate must remain valid throughout your contract, which will be verified during onboarding. At a minimum, the First Aid course must be a full-day practical training.

While not required, we encourage those working closely with children to consider obtaining a Paediatric First Aid at Work certificate.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • RPT Level 2, LTA Level 2 or Equivalent.
  • Level 1 or higher Pickleball qualification is highly advantageous.
  • Experience coaching individuals of all ages and abilities.
  • Awareness of current developments in tennis.
  • Thorough knowledge of the British playing system.
  • Solid understanding of tennis equipment and associated safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to perform well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with your team to achieve high standards.
  • Ability to deliver engaging, safe, and informative instruction.
  • Proficient in English communication and instruction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining effective working relationships.
