Position Overview

This is a premier role within the Tennis Team. To qualify, candidates must possess a valid First Aid certificate along with the following credentials:

  • RPT Level 2, LTA Level 2 or Equivalent.
  • For those not yet qualified at Level 2, please refer to our Level 1 Tennis Coach position.

Our dynamic and professional Tennis Team is dedicated to delivering an exceptional program of high-quality instruction to guests of all ages and skill levels.

We are primarily seeking full-season coaches. While we will consider candidates with limited availability, preference will be given to those who can commit to the full season.

Our tennis program, developed by former world No. 80 Mark Petchey, incorporates extensive technical and tactical expertise.

We collaborate with RPT Europe founder Adrian Rattenbury, ensuring our Tennis Coaches receive top-tier training and our guests benefit from the most effective methods to enhance their game.

Our Tennis Program Features:

  • Private Coaching: Guests can schedule one-on-one sessions with our coaches for personalized skill development.
  • Premium Tennis: Designed for regular players seeking intensive coaching, these sessions run for two hours daily with groups of up to eight.
  • Tennis for Juniors & Teens: Tailored sessions for children aged six to seventeen, offered two to four times weekly during peak season.
  • Tennis for Kids: Young children, starting from age two, will be introduced to tennis through engaging games as part of the Kid's Club program.
  • Tennis Weeks with Mark Petchey: Exclusive events throughout the season, providing guests with the opportunity to gain insights and tips from a tennis expert.
  • Pickleball: Available in select resorts, this inclusive program caters to both adults and children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional tennis coaching aligned with the Neilson program.
  • Design and implement sessions tailored to the experience and skill levels of participants.
  • Organize and manage a comprehensive program that includes group coaching, free play, social tennis, tournaments, and private lessons.
  • Promote the tennis program actively to enhance participation.
  • Maintain inventory of tennis supplies and communicate needs to the line manager.
  • Assist in training new or seasonal coaches to effectively deliver the Neilson tennis program.
  • Ensure adherence to the highest health and safety standards.
  • Provide guests with guidance on the safe use of all equipment.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance and security of all tennis equipment.
  • Ensure that the tennis areas consistently meet guest expectations.
  • Organize and host social events and briefings.
  • Be adaptable and willing to assist in various duties as required by the line manager.
  • Conduct airport transfers, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for guests.

First Aid Certification:

A valid First Aid certificate is mandatory for all Neilson Active roles. This certificate must remain valid throughout your contract, and we will verify it during the onboarding process. A full-day practical course is required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • RPT Level 2, LTA Level 2 or Equivalent.
  • Level 1 or higher Pickleball qualification is advantageous.
  • Experience coaching individuals of all ages and abilities.
  • Awareness of current tennis trends and developments.
  • Thorough understanding of the British playing system.
  • Knowledge of tennis equipment and associated safety protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Flexibility to work the necessary hours to ensure team success.
  • Capability to deliver engaging, safe, and informative instruction.
  • Proficiency in English for effective communication and instruction.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining positive working relationships.
