Position Overview

This is a key role within the Tennis Team, requiring a valid First Aid certificate and the following qualifications:

  • RPT Level 2, LTA Level 2 or Equivalent.
  • For those not yet qualified at Level 2, please refer to our Level 1 Tennis Coach position.

Our dedicated and skilled Tennis Team provides an exceptional standard of coaching to Neilson guests of all ages and skill levels.

We prefer candidates available for the full season, but will consider those with shorter availability, prioritizing those with the most suitable qualifications.

Our tennis program, developed by former world No. 80 Mark Petchey, incorporates extensive technical and tactical expertise.

We collaborate with RPT Europe founder Adrian Rattenbury, ensuring our Tennis Coaches receive top-tier training and our guests benefit from the most effective coaching methods available.

Our Tennis Program Features:

Private Coaching: Guests can schedule one-on-one sessions with our coaches for personalized skill development.

Premium Tennis: Designed for regular players seeking intensive coaching, these sessions last two hours daily with groups of up to eight.

Tennis for Juniors & Teens: Children aged six to seventeen participate in our dedicated Junior/Teen Tennis program, running two to four times weekly during peak season.

Tennis for Kids: Children as young as two are introduced to tennis through our Kid's Club program, featuring engaging tennis-based games.

Tennis Weeks with Mark Petchey: Throughout the season, guests can join exclusive Tennis weeks hosted by Mark Petchey for expert tips and practice.

Pickleball: In select resorts, both adults and children can enjoy our inclusive Pickleball program.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional Tennis coaching aligned with the Neilson program.
  • Design sessions tailored to the experience and skill levels of adults and children.
  • Organize and manage a program that includes group coaching, free play, social tennis, weekly tournaments, and private lessons.
  • Actively promote the tennis program to enhance participation.
  • Ensure tennis supplies are well-monitored and stocked.
  • Promptly inform the line manager when orders are needed.
  • Assist in training new or seasonal coaches to effectively deliver the Neilson tennis program.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of health and safety.
  • Provide guests with guidance on the safe use of all equipment.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance, repair, and security of all Neilson Tennis equipment.
  • Maintain the appearance of the Tennis areas to meet guest expectations.
  • Organize and host social events and briefings.
  • Be prepared to move between resorts as needed for operational requirements.
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to assist with all duties as requested by your line manager.
  • Conduct airport transfers, serving as the first point of guest contact, ensuring a personable, informative, and efficient experience.

First Aid Certificate:

A valid First Aid certificate is required for all Neilson Active positions. Your certificate must be valid throughout your contract, which will be verified during onboarding. At a minimum, the First Aid Course must be a full-day practical course.

While not mandatory, we encourage those working closely with children to consider obtaining a Paediatric First Aid at Work certificate.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • RPT Level 2, LTA Level 2 or Equivalent.
  • Level 1 or higher Pickleball qualification is advantageous.
  • Experience coaching adults and children of varying abilities.
  • Awareness of current tennis developments.
  • Thorough knowledge of the British playing system.
  • Solid understanding of tennis equipment usage and associated safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work required hours collaboratively with your team.
  • Capability to deliver engaging, safe, and informative instruction.
  • Proficiency in English for conversation and instruction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining effective working relationships.
