Position Overview:

The Tennis Coach Level 2 position is a pivotal role within our Tennis Team. Candidates must possess a valid First Aid certificate and the following qualifications:

  • RPT Level 2, LTA Level 2 or Equivalent.
  • For those not yet qualified at Level 2, please refer to our Level 1 Tennis Coach role.

Our dedicated and skilled Tennis Team is committed to delivering an exceptional standard of coaching to guests of all ages and skill levels.

We prefer candidates available for the full season, but will consider those with shorter availability. Preference will be given to individuals who meet both our availability and qualification criteria.

Our tennis program, developed by former world No. 80 Mark Petchey, integrates extensive technical and tactical expertise. Mark, a former GB Davis Cup player and Andy Murray's ex-coach, has crafted a program that stands out in quality.

We collaborate with Adrian Rattenbury, founder of RPT Europe, to ensure our Tennis Coaches receive top-tier training and our guests benefit from the most effective methods to enhance their game.

Tennis Program Highlights:

Private Coaching: Guests can schedule personalized sessions with our coaches to refine their skills.

Premium Tennis: Tailored for regular players seeking intensive coaching, these sessions last two hours daily with groups of up to eight.

Tennis for Juniors & Teens: Our specific Junior/Teen Tennis program caters to children aged six to seventeen, running two to four times weekly during peak season.

Tennis for Kids: Children as young as two can experience tennis through our Kid's Club program, featuring engaging tennis-based games.

Tennis Weeks with Mark Petchey: Throughout the season, guests can participate in exclusive Tennis weeks hosted by Mark Petchey, offering valuable insights and practice.

Pickleball: Selected resorts offer an inclusive Pickleball program for both adults and children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional tennis coaching aligned with the Neilson program.
  • Design sessions tailored to the experience and skill levels of participants.
  • Organize and manage a program that includes group coaching, free play, social tennis, weekly tournaments, and private lessons.
  • Promote the tennis program to enhance guest participation.
  • Monitor and maintain tennis supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequate.
  • Promptly inform the line manager when supplies need replenishing.
  • Assist in training new or seasonal coaches to effectively deliver the Neilson tennis program.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of health and safety.
  • Guide guests on the safe and practical use of all equipment.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance and security of all Neilson Tennis equipment.
  • Ensure the appearance of tennis areas meets guest expectations.
  • Organize and host social events and briefings.
  • Be adaptable and willing to assist in various duties as directed by your line manager.
  • Provide excellent, personable, and efficient airport transfers as the first point of guest contact.

First Aid Certification:

A valid First Aid certificate is mandatory for all Neilson Active roles. The certificate must remain valid throughout your contract, which will be verified during onboarding. At a minimum, the First Aid course must be a full-day practical session.

We encourage those working closely with children to consider obtaining a Paediatric First Aid at Work certificate, although it is not a requirement for the position.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • RPT Level 2, LTA Level 2 or Equivalent.
  • Level 1 or higher Pickleball qualification is advantageous.
  • Experience coaching individuals of all ages and abilities.
  • Familiarity with current tennis developments.
  • In-depth knowledge of the British playing system.
  • Strong understanding of tennis equipment and associated safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to perform well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with your team to achieve goals.
  • Ability to provide engaging, safe, and informative instruction.
  • Proficient in English communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining effective working relationships.
