We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Health Improvement Officer. This role will support our work in referral services and provide an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of people across the district.
Key Responsibilities:- Run or lead on physical activity sessions in the community as part of our Community Wellbeing programmes.
- Work with colleagues in the Wellbeing Referral team to develop and deliver projects that promote good health and wellbeing.
- Utilise the assets and reach of arts, culture and leisure to promote and encourage good health and wellbeing.
- Support people where and when they need it most, including working with members of the public, volunteers, and partner organisations.
- A knowledge and understanding of the factors that affect health choices, particularly related to physical activity, including sport, food and nutrition, and mental wellbeing.
- An awareness and understanding of health inequalities and behaviour change techniques.
- Good interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- A degree of self-motivation and a willingness to support other work areas within Wellbeing Services.
- The ability to travel independently around the district and participate in, and lead wellbeing activities in a range of venues, including outdoor settings.
- A dynamic and supportive team environment.
