Role: Strategic Sourcing Lead

We are collaborating with a dynamic services organization seeking a seasoned Strategic Sourcing Lead to spearhead the enhancement of their sourcing team and methodologies, while pinpointing opportunities for cost efficiencies and improved contractual agreements.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in services and indirect procurement, with a preference for experience in facilities management and human resources categories.

This organization is poised for significant expansion, and this pivotal role will support their strategic objectives. The position presents excellent prospects for professional growth and advancement, particularly through the establishment and evolution of a new sourcing function aimed at maximizing savings through increased expenditure and leverage.

The successful candidate will adopt a proactive stance towards contract management and negotiations, while also formulating a long-term vision and strategy for the sourcing department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing sourcing initiatives for the organization, identifying and realizing cost reductions, streamlining contracts, and ensuring adherence to best practices and processes in procurement.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and guiding them through the procurement process requirements.
  • Managing tendering and contract negotiation processes across a diverse array of services and products.
  • Establishing a comprehensive and structured procurement policy, process, and strategy.
  • Supplier management, including the creation and onboarding of new suppliers, ongoing relationship management, supplier rationalization projects, and performance oversight.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in services and indirect procurement, ideally encompassing facilities, human resources, corporate expenditure, catering, and IT/telecommunications.
  • Prior involvement in the development of procurement processes and strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Proven track record in sourcing and selecting suppliers, leading tendering processes, and negotiating and implementing procurement contracts.
  • Experience in contract consolidation and onboarding suppliers for new business acquisitions.
  • Advocating for a professional procurement approach within the organization.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and formulating strategies to achieve savings.
