Strategic Sourcing Lead

Location: Flexible (Hybrid)

Compensation: Approximately £50,000

Employment Type: Permanent

We are collaborating with a dynamic services firm to recruit a seasoned Strategic Sourcing Lead. This role is pivotal in steering the enhancement of their sourcing team and methodologies while pinpointing opportunities for cost efficiencies and improved contractual agreements.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in service-oriented procurement, particularly in areas such as facilities management and human resources.

This organization is poised for significant expansion, and this position will be instrumental in driving that vision forward. The role presents an excellent opportunity for professional growth and advancement, particularly in establishing and refining a new sourcing function and leveraging savings through increased procurement volume.

The successful candidate will adopt a proactive stance on contract management and negotiations while formulating a long-term strategic vision for the sourcing department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing procurement initiatives for the organization, focusing on identifying and realizing cost reductions, streamlining contracts, and ensuring adherence to best practices in procurement.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to navigate the procurement process effectively.
  • Managing the tendering and contract negotiation processes across a diverse array of services and products.
  • Establishing a comprehensive and structured procurement policy, process, and strategy.
  • Supplier management, including the creation and onboarding of new suppliers, ongoing relationship management, supplier consolidation projects, and performance evaluation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in service-oriented procurement, ideally encompassing facilities, human resources, corporate expenditures, catering, and IT/telecommunications.
  • Proven track record in developing procurement processes and strategies.
  • Expertise in sourcing and selecting suppliers, leading tendering processes, and negotiating and implementing procurement agreements.
  • Experience in consolidating contracts and onboarding suppliers for new business acquisitions.
  • Advocating for a professional procurement approach within the organization.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and formulating strategies to achieve these savings.
