DP World Australia is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a UK IT Terminal Systems Manager to join our dynamic IT team. This position will play a crucial role in supporting the Systems Team to ensure that integrated terminal system solutions are thoroughly tested and operational within established timelines. The successful candidate will actively engage in project execution by participating in testing, integration, commissioning, and go-live phases. Additionally, this role involves managing the team, developing plans, clearly communicating expectations and objectives, overseeing performance, and providing support as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the formulation of strategy, policy, and standards within your area of expertise.
  • Engage proactively with the user community to gather information regarding issues and guide users through diagnostic procedures to identify the source of errors for straightforward problems.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and standards while addressing inquiries about the status of resolving general IT and specific business application issues.
  • Configure, install, and maintain the Terminal Operating System (TOS), including its specific modules and interfaces with other applications, ensuring readiness for future versions and releases.
  • Provide proactive maintenance, support, and manage the daily administration and operational support for TOS.
  • Offer insights for the implementation of the application portfolio, including ERP and other relevant applications.
  • Contribute to the infrastructure implementation by providing necessary inputs related to TOS requirements.
  • Interact daily with vendors for hardware and standard software in accordance with company IT policies and standards.
  • Execute IT Business Application configurations and specifications for the deployment and commissioning of terminal-specific equipment in collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and facility management teams.
  • Install, modify, and perform minor repairs on applications while providing technical assistance and training to system users.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a managerial capacity is essential.
  • Experience in terminal operations is crucial.
  • Familiarity with automated or semi-automated terminal operations is advantageous.
  • An IT degree or relevant qualifications would be beneficial.
  • A proven history of successful project implementation of the TOS system is required.
  • Experience managing projects from requirements gathering to implementation is essential.
  • Ability to develop IT test plans and execute them, including user training.
  • Capable of using initiative and working independently or as part of a larger team, with the ability to prioritize workload as directed by the Line Manager.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to be on call as part of a rotation plan with the systems team.

  • Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
  • Ability to travel as necessary is expected.
  • Roles may be closed early based on the volume of applications received.
  • A valid UK driving license or an appropriate international license allowing driving on UK roads is necessary.
  • No unspent criminal convictions are permitted.
