About the Role

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a part-time Cashier/Administrator to join our team at General Office, St Ann's Hospital.

The successful candidate will provide financial support to the site, including petty cash, banking, and financial duties. They will also assist the Patient Affairs Officer with administrative tasks, such as completing estates requisitions and issuing site keys and alarms to new staff and contractors.

This is a varied role with set tasks and deadlines, as well as administrative duties that will take you across the site. You will work closely with the Patient Affairs Officer to provide a continuous service during periods of leave or sickness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial support to the site, including petty cash, banking, and financial duties.
  • Assist the Patient Affairs Officer with administrative tasks, such as completing estates requisitions and issuing site keys and alarms to new staff and contractors.
  • Work closely with the Patient Affairs Officer to provide a continuous service during periods of leave or sickness.
  • Balance and record financial transactions, following organisational instructions, policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • GCSE in English and Maths Grade C or above, or equivalent.
  • RSAII or Equivalent Experience in Word Processing/Typing.
  • Experience of working within a office environment with cash handling and financial reconciliation experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills towards people at all levels within the organisation and externally.
  • Good time management skills to work within set deadlines.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to organise own workload.
  • Must be computer literate and able to learn and work on a variety of systems.
