About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Welcome Clerk. As the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, you will play a vital role in providing a warm and welcoming experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a proactive and professional welcome to patients and visitors, acting as the public face for the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust.
  • Deliver an efficient administrative and clerical service to the Ward Team, ensuring the smooth running of the ward and enhancing patient care.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives, and staff to ensure that all information is secure and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer care, including communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives, treating them with tact and empathy.
  • Ensure the professional image of the Trust is maintained at all times.
Requirements
  • A background in customer services and/or administration is desirable, but not essential.
  • Enthusiasm, dedication, and a willingness to make a difference are essential qualities for this role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to work effectively with patients, relatives, and staff.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
