Position Overview
The Women's Health Psychological Services (WHPS) at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) comprises a skilled team of psychologists, psychotherapists, and counselors dedicated to providing exceptional psychological support across various sub-specialties, including maternity, neonatology, reproductive health, and gynecological services.
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic professional to enhance our team, offering psychological evaluations, consultations, and brief interventions to women and their partners, particularly within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) focused on pediatric and adolescent gynecology. This role involves working with patients diagnosed with disorders of sexual development (DSD).
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of these services and the influence of service user advocacy on the care provided.
Essential Qualifications
Candidates must hold the protected title of Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist) as recognized by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Availability on Tuesdays is a requirement.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- An honors degree in psychology or a related field, along with a Doctorate or PhD in clinical or counseling psychology.
- Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC.
- Familiarity with the history of DSD services and the impact of service user activism on care practices.
Experience

- Experience in psychological practice within an NHS environment, delivering short-term interventions to women, couples, and groups.
- Experience working with marginalized populations, including collaboration with interpreters.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to psychological assessments and care planning.
