Job Description

ROLE: Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION: Premier Group

TERM: Permanent

SALARY: £50,000 - £70,000, dependent on experience

Premier Group is seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and development of mechanical systems and equipment for the Marine industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement design concepts and solutions using 3D CAD software, such as Siemens NX.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets technical and business requirements.
  • Lead and mentor junior design engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure smooth production and delivery of products.
  • Contribute to the development of design documentation, including technical drawings and project reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure Premier Group remains competitive.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position.
  • Strong 3D CAD skills with Siemens NX or similar software.
  • PDM / PLM experience is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of composites and mechanical engineering principles is essential.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and other design software.
