Job Title: Duty Manager - Walsall Manor Hospital SPAR Store

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at the SPAR store within Walsall Manor Hospital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in leading and motivating a team of colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Store Manager in ensuring a safe, legal, and high-performing store environment.
  • Assist in delivering all store operations, objectives, and KPIs.
  • Manage, coach, and support colleagues to develop a motivated and empowered team.
  • Carry out performance management and absence management as required.
  • Take responsibility for occasional opening and closing of the store, colleague safety, and stock/cash security/accountability.
  • Conduct cash reconciliations, voids, and refunds, and other management tasks for till colleagues.
  • Be a role model and lead the team to provide an exceptional customer experience.
  • Work with colleagues to promote the store and engage with the local community.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous management or supervisor experience in a food retail or similar fast-paced operation.
  • Commitment to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Able to take appropriate action and make decisions.
  • Committed to promoting collaborative working.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a positive attitude.
  • Committed to developing own skills and applying learning to improve performance.
