About the Role: Duty Manager - SPAR Store within Walsall Manor Hospital
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Duty Manager to lead our award-winning SPAR store at Walsall Manor Hospital. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, you will play a vital role in driving success and growth within this essential retail location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Store Manager in ensuring a safe, legal, and high-performing store environment, taking overall responsibility during your shifts as Duty Manager.
- Assist the Store Manager in achieving all store operations objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Manage, coach, and support colleagues, fostering a motivated and empowered team through positive leadership and engagement.
- Conduct performance management and absence management as required.
- Be responsible for occasional opening/closing procedures, colleague safety, stock security, cash handling, and accountability during your shifts.
- Carry out cash reconciliations, voids, refunds, and other management tasks for till colleagues.
- Lead by example, inspiring the team to deliver exceptional customer service that sets us apart from competitors.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote the store by identifying and implementing opportunities to engage with the local community.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and processes.
Skills Required:
- Previous management or supervisory experience within a food retail environment or similar fast-paced operation.
- A commitment to achieving and maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
- Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities at all levels.
- The ability to take appropriate action and make sound decisions.
- A collaborative approach to working with others.
