Job Title: Engineer

Location: Gatwick Airport

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off

Salary: Competitive

We are seeking an experienced Engineer to join our team at London Gatwick Airport, working on both Airside and Landside. As an Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles to strict Company standards and adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine safety inspections, MOT preparations, and service vehicles to a higher standard than the minimum required by law.
  • Rectify defects identified during inspections and drivers' requests.
  • Attend promptly to vehicle breakdowns as requested by the Fleet/Engineering Manager or Supervisor.
  • Complete job cards, safety inspections sheets, and drivers' defect reports accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workshop environment.
  • Comply with company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other reasonable work-related tasks, including travel.
  • Work flexible shift patterns as required.

Requirements:

  • Desirable: PCV/HGV Licence
  • Previous experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Relevant City & Guilds qualifications, such as NVQ 2 in mechanical commercial vehicles
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and familiarity with Department of Transport Standards (DVSA)
  • Strong team working and communication skills
