About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at London Gatwick Airport. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety inspections and maintenance tasks on vehicles, adhering to all relevant regulations and company standards.
  • Rectify defects and perform repairs as required, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
  • Attend to vehicle breakdowns promptly, providing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including safety inspections and defect reports.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized workshop environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Desirable: PCV/HGV Licence, relevant City & Guilds qualifications, and experience in mechanical commercial vehicles.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills, familiarity with Department of Transport Standards (DVSA), and strong communication skills.
