Job Summary:

The Financial Operations Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the financial functions of our organization. This position will be responsible for managing financial transactions, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Transaction Management:
    • Manage commercial and student debt ledgers, including invoicing, credit control, and account maintenance.
    • Process supplier invoices, match them to purchase orders, and handle supplier queries.
  • Customer Service:
    • Serve as the primary contact for commercial partners and students, addressing queries and providing guidance.
    • Administer student financial records and manage debt in line with policy.
  • General Administration:
    • Maintain performance reports, monitor finance email accounts, and manage online payment platforms.
    • Provide cross-departmental support, handling inquiries and general clerical duties.
  • Compliance and Training:
    • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures and participate in ongoing training.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a busy finance and customer-focused environment.
  • Strong record-keeping and IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage and interpret complex data.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work within a confidential environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience in Higher Education and knowledge of relevant software and legislation (e.g., Data Protection Act).
  • A fundamental understanding of business process improvement.
