About the Role

The Birmingham Children's Trust is seeking a skilled Higher Level Family Support Worker to join our Families Together Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality support to children, young people, and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to promote positive change and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people, and families to achieve family outcomes and address complex needs.
  • Act as a champion for specific practice areas, such as domestic abuse, parental conflict, mental health, or substance misuse, and provide advice and support as needed.
  • Maintain and improve practice and performance in line with professional development targets, as agreed with the line manager through supervision.
  • Work closely with colleagues across disciplines to share knowledge, provide support, and deliver the best possible outcomes for local children and their families.

Requirements

  • A NVQ level four or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency forum and delivering evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Good report writing and record-keeping skills, with the ability to account for decisions taken and interventions provided.
