Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is recognized as the foremost of Scotland's seven regional transport partnerships. We operate the Glasgow Subway, alongside a variety of specialized bus services, and are dedicated to enhancing public transport accessibility for everyone.

The Subway has undergone modernization twice throughout its history, with the last significant upgrade occurring in the late 1970s. We are currently engaged in a substantial £288m transformative initiative aimed at positioning the Subway as one of the most sophisticated systems in Europe. This is your chance to contribute to the Subway's future, playing a pivotal role in the implementation of the UK's first full Unattended Train Operation (UTO) system.

As Subway Modernisation progresses rapidly, we are in search of an outstanding leader to formulate and execute a maintenance strategy that guarantees the Subway's continued service excellence during this dynamic and challenging period, while evolving our operational model to accommodate the modernized Subway.

Role Overview

As a key member of the Maintenance management team, you will oversee the delivery of Subway Performance to facilitate modernization and ensure system reliability. Your responsibilities will include developing, implementing, and managing all phases of performance enhancement plans, quality assurance processes, and productivity improvement initiatives. You will play both a technical and managerial role within the Maintenance team, providing support to the Maintenance, Engineering, Transformation, and Projects functions as necessary.

Candidate Profile

You should hold a relevant qualification in an Engineering discipline or possess equivalent experience. A proven track record in a safety-critical environment, where safety and quality management are paramount, is essential.

We seek a highly driven, dedicated, and self-assured individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, experienced in engaging with both internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity with Asset Management and proficiency in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is required. Experience in converting raw data into insightful, user-friendly dashboards and reports would be beneficial.
