Vocational Health and Social Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Vocational Health and Social Care Assessor specialising in Health and Social Care for adults. The successful candidate must have prior experience in a senior role within care or support services, such as a Senior Care Worker, Team Leader, or Manager. Full training will be provided in teaching and assessment, enabling the candidate to become a skilled vocational assessor who will support learners through their apprenticeship qualifications in Health and Social Care.
This role is predominantly home-based, with occasional requirements to work in the office. The first two weeks of the induction will take place in the office.
Key Responsibilities:Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct assessments of learners to evaluate their current skills and identify training needs using remote technology.
- Provide detailed and constructive feedback, ensuring learners fully understand the requirements of their vocational qualifications.
Training and Development:
- Participate in and successfully complete the vocational assessor training programme.
- Deliver training sessions to individuals and groups, focusing on standards and best practices in adult residential care and supported accommodation.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of learner progress, assessments, and achievements, including conducting progress reviews every 10 weeks.
- Complete assessment reports and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
Communication:
- Collaborate with care staff, managers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and learner success, tracking and reporting monthly progress.
- Provide regular updates on learner progress to relevant parties.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in adult residential care.
- Contribute to the improvement and development of training materials and assessment processes.
- Previous experience in a senior role within the care sector (e.g., Team Leader, Manager) with a relevant Diploma or Apprenticeship.
- Strong knowledge of CQC standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Proficient in ICT, particularly in using the Microsoft Office suite.
