Job Summary

New Care is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Chef to join our team at Wilmslow Manor Care Centre. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality food services to our residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met, and contributing to their overall positive experience of living in our care home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of our residents, ensuring that meals are presented in a way that is easy to understand and appealing to the senses.
  • Manage the kitchen team, allocating duties and supervising staff to ensure a high standard of food preparation and presentation.
  • Ensure that all food is nutritionally balanced, attractively presented, and served in a timely manner, adhering to company HACCP guidelines and the Food Standards Act 1999.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to infection control protocols and cleaning rotas.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Second Chef to ensure a seamless food service operation, responding to resident needs and preferences.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a care home or similar setting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality food services.
  • Knowledge of specialized diets and service delivery, with the ability to contribute to menu development and implementation.
  • Ability to complete records demonstrating adherence to legal requirements, including HACCP and food safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external partners.
