PhD Project Overview
The University of Nottingham is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team in the Centre for Additive Manufacturing (CfAM). The successful candidate will work on a PhD project that focuses on developing materials and methods for 3D printing, with a particular emphasis on multi-material inkjet printing.
Research Objectives
The PhD project will aim to:
- Develop new materials and methods for 3D printing
- Investigate the properties of 3D printed materials
- Design and develop functional 3D printed structures
Methodology
The PhD researcher will use a combination of experimental and computational methods to achieve the research objectives. This will include:
- Designing and developing new materials and methods for 3D printing
- Characterizing the properties of 3D printed materials using various techniques
- Designing and developing functional 3D printed structures using computer-aided design (CAD) software
Supervision
The PhD researcher will be supervised by a team of experienced academics in the Centre for Additive Manufacturing (CfAM). The supervisory team will provide guidance and support throughout the PhD project.
Eligibility
The PhD researcher must possess or expect to obtain a 2:1 or first-class degree in a Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physical Sciences related discipline. Due to funding restrictions, the position is only available for UK candidates.
