We are seeking a skilled Manager of External Communications to become a vital part of our team.

Role Summary
The External Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping our communication strategy and building a dedicated team. This position involves close collaboration with our current Communications and Marketing Team, as well as external partners. Establishing robust relationships with both internal and external stakeholders will be essential in the early stages of this role.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a thorough external communications strategy aimed at bolstering our brand image within the Energy, Defence, and Maritime Transport industries.
  • Establish foundational communication elements such as media relations, press announcements, technical leadership, social media engagement, and event coordination.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gain insights into the business landscape, markets, and customer needs to formulate effective communication strategies.
  • Lead external communication initiatives during significant rebranding efforts.
  • Partner with public relations and creative agencies to maximize collaboration benefits.
  • Assess and analyze communication activities to evaluate effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Provide strategic guidance during crisis communication scenarios as part of the Emergency Response team.
  • Mentor and nurture the development of team members within the communications department.
  • Foster strong relationships across all organizational levels while prioritizing safety.
  • Act as the brand representative for the organization.
  • Oversee budget management responsibilities with efficiency.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience in a comparable role, preferably within a B2B context, with familiarity in technical sectors such as Maritime, Defence, or Energy.
  • A degree in communications, business, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Proven strategic thinking abilities and adaptability to foster innovation and transformation.
  • Capability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and thrive under pressure.
  • A well-established network of media contacts and a proactive, organized work ethic.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
