Principal Product Manager

In this pivotal role, the incumbent will concentrate on the assessment and execution of ESG regulations across the EU-based funds managed by Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM). Additionally, support will be provided for the integration of ESG regulations within LGIM's UK fund offerings as necessary. A primary objective will be overseeing several fund modifications to guarantee compliance with the forthcoming ESMA ESG and Sustainability in fund naming regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Oversight: Directing and ensuring comprehensive management of each product and fund range from launch through to the conclusion of its lifecycle, consistently adhering to the Product Process Manual and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) standards.
  • Project Coordination: Defining and designing the implementation of regulatory modifications and any related product adjustments, utilizing effective project management methodologies to identify and document critical milestones and deliverables, while managing actions and issues, facilitating working groups, and conducting testing.
  • Governance and Compliance: Guaranteeing the execution of compliant product policies and procedures. Ensuring adherence to compliance, governance, and risk frameworks, thereby ensuring that product activities align with business ethics, values, and stakeholder expectations at established risk levels.
  • Product Evaluation: Establishing processes for the regular assessment of product risk management and delivery, including fund and thematic reviews. Setting up ongoing evaluations of the benefits realization of regulated funds post-launch, ensuring they continue to meet customer needs.
  • Technical Product Support: As the owner of fund domicile, vehicle, platform, or asset class changes, providing and delivering technical support on regulatory, tax, customer channels, registrations, disclosures, and operational matters, both on an ongoing and project basis, to manage existing products effectively.
  • Operational Collaboration: Ensuring all relevant operational teams are involved in decision-making processes regarding new product launches, engaged in prioritization and resource discussions, and informed of changes that may impact their effectiveness or require significant input.
  • Market and Industry Analysis: Reviewing analyses of customer, industry, and regulatory activities to determine where strategic new fund launches or modifications are necessary, thereby informing proposition design and enhancing the product offering. Acting as a subject matter expert within the team and the organization, identifying effective ways to share and document knowledge.
  • Regulatory Acumen: Acquiring, maintaining, and disseminating a comprehensive understanding of product structures and the application of regulatory guidelines to product governance arrangements, staying updated on changes and developments, and discussing these insights knowledgeably.
