About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Business Intelligence and Data Analyst to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Research and Innovation (R&I) Department, you will play a vital role in providing business and intelligence information to inform R&I performance against our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and national targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take a lead in specific projects that inform R&I business functions, working closely with system and process change to meet the ever-changing reporting requirements of the Trust and the NHS.
  • Supervise, train, and manage other staff that support the business and data function of the R&I service, acting as an EDGE and Open Data Platform (ODP) champion/guru.
  • Plan and coordinate your own varied workload and work to achieve agreed objectives.
  • Lead analytical projects, including data and numerical analysis, and the development of reporting solutions that meet the strategic objectives of the R&I service.
  • Analyse data from R&I's preferred information systems to provide timely, accurate, and intelligible information to clinical and managerial staff and external agencies.
  • Promote and facilitate the use of the EDGE and ODP systems to users, demonstrating a commitment to data accuracy and security at all times.
  • Maintain and report on the Department's key performance indicators (KPIs), analysing and communicating effectively to relevant stakeholders.

Person Specification
  • Further education to degree level or equivalent qualification, or substantial experience working in research.
  • Qualification/training to advanced level in database or information management.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the clinical research operational, regulatory, business, and strategic environment.
  • Experience of implementing new systems within a research environment.
  • Knowledge of Clinical or Research and Corporate Governance Frameworks, legislation, and best practice.
  • Experience of line management, including supporting the health and wellbeing of staff.
  • Recent NHS experience in the last three years, with a logical and consistent work and career pattern.
