About the Role

The Assistant Workshop Manager plays a critical part in ensuring optimal Fleet performance and meeting the Operator's requirements efficiently and cost-effectively. As a key support to the Workshop Manager, this position is accountable for overseeing Workshop performance and managing people processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance to legal and company safety policies and meeting safety targets
  • Delivering maintenance services and optimizing cost performance & forecasting through the use of resource planning and booking tools
  • Optimizing the efficiency of Fleet Workshop to meet industry standard performance levels
  • Effective engagement, communication, and coaching to support and develop the Fleet Workshop team
  • Optimum vehicle availability to meet the requirements of the Operation
  • Visible and effective leadership for Fleet Workshop teams and support staff
  • Building effective and professional relationships with key stakeholders and customers
  • Managing and supporting the maintenance of ISO 9001 quality standard within Fleet Workshop and supporting Continuous Improvement activity within the Workshop

About You

To excel in this position, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to effectively manage and build relations with stakeholders
  • Ability to influence and deliver results through people
  • Ability to lead, develop, and coach to drive performance improvement
  • Relevant industry knowledge and experience of dispersed maintenance operations
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for vehicles and trailers maintained to road transport legislation
  • Full driving license
  • Recognized technical qualification - NVQ level 3 - Motor Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent
