About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Specialty Doctor in Forensic Psychiatry to join our dynamic team at Fulbourn Hospital, Cambridge. This fixed-term position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality care within a secure hospital and community forensic service spanning Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive day-to-day treatment for patients residing in our Low Secure Unit, George Mackenzie House.
  • Collaborate closely with forensic consultants to ensure seamless patient care and effective management of the unit.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of new referrals to the unit, ensuring a smooth transition into our service.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and provide expert evidence before tribunals, contributing to legal proceedings related to patient care.
  • Participate actively in ward rounds, care programme approach meetings, and unit governance meetings, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Contribute to outpatient work within our community forensic service, extending your expertise beyond the secure setting (optional).
