About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Duty Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to individuals in mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the response to medical and psychiatric emergencies on the hospital site.
  • Deploy staff in urgent/emergency situations to achieve safe staffing levels within available resources.
  • Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health Act 2007 and other statutory regulations are observed and implemented.
  • Ensure that all staff comply with Trust policies and ensure that Risk Management and Health & Safety requirements are implemented.
  • Be conversant with the Major Incident and Fire Evacuation Procedures.
Requirements
  • Relevant professional mental health qualification to degree or diploma level.
  • Understanding of individuals with complex needs.
  • Ability to manage/supervise other staff.
  • Knowledge of up-to-date legislation, national and local policies relating to the Section 136 Police holding powers.
