Team Leader in Healthcare Science Management

Exciting Opportunity: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Healthcare Scientist Team Leader to oversee our Haematology and Blood Transfusion department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality laboratory services within a modern healthcare environment.
Department Overview: Our laboratory provides essential Haematology and Transfusion support to various healthcare facilities. We have recently upgraded our equipment through a managed service contract, enhancing our operational efficiency and preparing for the implementation of advanced transfusion analysers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate daily technical operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Provide expert guidance to service users and colleagues.
- Oversee line management, staff training, and service development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain quality oversight in the Specimen Reception area.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in Biomedical Science, along with several years of post-registration experience in a hospital Haematology Laboratory. Experience in a band 7 role with line management duties is also acceptable.
Work Schedule: The successful candidate will be required to work out-of-hours shifts, including public holidays, as per service needs. However, participation in the out-of-hours rota is not required for this managerial position.
