About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our Signalling Maintenance team at Network Rail. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for directing and inspiring a small team of Signalling Maintenance professionals to deliver high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and motivate a high-performing team to deliver safe and efficient maintenance and renewal work
  • Establish and maintain safety arrangements to ensure compliance with Network Rail's safety standards
  • Proactively control and check the quality of work and the competence of team members
  • Compile and submit detailed reports on technical problems and maintenance activities
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance plans to ensure assets are fully compliant and fit for purpose
Requirements
  • Experience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead, diagnose, and progress Signalling faults to resolution
  • Strong safety ethic and knowledge of Railway Safety standards
  • Hold a driving licence and be able to drive when required
  • Ability to use own initiative to come to resolution for technical problems
Desirable Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or above in an Engineering subject
  • Hold or be working towards an NVQ level 3 or 4 (or equivalent) in an engineering subject or have attained the appropriate level of knowledge gained through equivalent relevant experience in a Railway background
  • Hold an IRSE Maintainer / Faulting licence
Working Arrangements

This role involves days, nights, and weekend working, and is a safety-critical role subject to drug and alcohol testing and passing of the relevant medical assessment.
