Job Overview

As a Financial Reporting Specialist, you will be an integral part of the Finance team at The Openwork Partnership, assisting the Head of Financial Reporting & Control and the Head of Finance & Strategy in the execution of statutory reporting.
This position plays a crucial role in the formulation and implementation of best-in-class year-end and consolidation processes, as well as controls within Financial Reporting. As a respected member of the Finance team, you will contribute to achieving operational goals and ensuring a high-quality, cost-effective service to all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning and preparation of statutory and regulatory reporting for the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Oversee interim audits and assist the Head of Financial Reporting & Control with pre-year-end documentation for the Audit Committee.
  • Manage tax reporting, including quarterly VAT returns and Corporation Tax estimates.
  • Collaborate across the business to represent Finance interests effectively.
  • Drive the development of the Financial Reporting Control Framework (FRCF) within external reporting.
  • Continuously enhance external reporting disclosures in response to changes in the reporting landscape.
  • Work closely with the Head of Financial Reporting & Control and external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Improve the structure and clarity of external reporting documents.
  • Handle specific month-end tasks as part of the monthly reporting to the Board.
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines and standards in the delivery of external reporting.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Qualified Accountant (preferably ACA/ACCA) with a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong skills in financial and regulatory reporting, along with technical accounting knowledge.
  • Experience in the Financial Services sector is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HMRC and FCA reporting is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics GP is a benefit.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Financial Services legislation and regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Awareness of market and financial risks.
  • Understanding of accounting principles in a business context.
  • Professional demeanor with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Proven ability to lead and plan statutory reporting effectively.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
