Position Overview

Location: Hybrid working model with required office presence.

Gousto is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the role of Head of Finance (Operations & Cost) within our Financial Controls team. Reporting directly to the Financial Director, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with our EVP Operations Office, focusing on cost management, budgeting, and return on investment across our production facilities. Additionally, you will lead a high-performing team that encompasses Accounts Payable, Payroll, Labour, and Finance Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Operations Leadership teams to analyze actual factory performance, including labour and waste metrics, while preparing budgets and rolling forecasts to enhance performance.
  • Engage actively in the formulation of the long-term Operations strategy, contributing to the company’s five-year plan.
  • Oversee and manage overhead costs for Operations and Central functions, including Engineering, IT, and Human Resources.
  • Prepare variance reports, budgets, and forecasts as part of your responsibilities.
  • Take ownership of cost centre reporting across the organization, supporting and challenging cost centre owners to adhere to budgetary constraints.
  • Work closely with Site Leadership, Engineering, and IT teams to update capital expenditure and exceptional forecasts.
  • Supervise the Accounts Payable team to ensure efficient invoice processing, credit note collection, supplier relationship management, and adherence to key controls.
  • Lead the Payroll team, ensuring high levels of employee engagement and compliance with all filing requirements.
  • Ensure the financial integrity of the Dynamics 365 ERP system.
  • Drive the automation agenda within the Finance team, including D365 initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with substantial experience in a senior or head-level finance role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial business partnering.
  • Experience in cost management within a manufacturing or retail context is highly advantageous.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make informed decisions.
  • Skilled in translating complex financial data into accessible insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Capable of managing details while maintaining a broader strategic perspective.
  • Confident in presenting to and influencing senior management.
  • Proficient in time management and prioritization.
  • Proven track record in team development and management.
  • Passionate about leading finance initiatives.
  • Enthusiastic about exploring automation opportunities within finance.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable and payroll processes is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Accountancy qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
