Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team at Blue Oak Recruitment. As a key member of our financial team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, with a proven track record of delivering accurate and timely financial information. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategies.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis between actual performance and budget/forecast, identifying key drivers of variances. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management for corrective actions or performance improvement.
- Cost Accounting: Monitor and analyse manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labour, and overheads. Ensure accurate allocation of costs to products and projects.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation and management, ensuring accurate reporting and minimizing excess stock levels.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with operational teams to identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency, cost savings, and financial performance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with production, supply chain, and other departments to provide financial guidance and support decision-making processes.
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified CIMA or finalist with experience gained in a manufacturing environment and a strong background in variance analysis, cost accounting, and financial reporting. Highly developed IT skills are a must, and the ability to communicate financial information to non-finance colleagues is crucial to your success.
