Position Overview

Location: Hybrid work model with required office presence.

Gousto is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Head of Finance within our Financial Controls team. Reporting directly to the Financial Director, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with our EVP Operations Office, focusing on cost management, budgeting, and return on investment across our manufacturing sites. You will also lead a high-performing team that includes Accounts Payable, Payroll, Labour, and Finance Systems.

In this leadership position, you will engage cross-functionally with various teams and stakeholders, including Operations and Commercial Finance. If you are a seasoned finance leader with a strong background in business partnering and team management, this opportunity may be ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Operations Leadership to analyze actual factory performance, prepare budgets and forecasts, and implement performance enhancements.
  • Contribute to the development of the long-term Operations strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's five-year plan.
  • Manage operational overhead costs and support central functions such as Engineering, IT, and Human Resources.
  • Prepare variance reports, budgets, and forecasts as part of your responsibilities.
  • Oversee cost center reporting, providing support and challenge to cost center owners to maintain budget adherence.
  • Work closely with Site Leadership, Engineering, and IT teams to update capital expenditure and exceptional forecasts.
  • Lead the Accounts Payable team to ensure efficient invoice processing, credit note collection, supplier relationship management, and adherence to key controls.
  • Supervise the Payroll team, ensuring strong employee engagement and compliance with all objectives.
  • Ensure the financial integrity of the Dynamics 365 ERP system.
  • Drive the automation agenda within the Finance team, including D365 initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in a senior or head-level finance role.
  • Proven financial business partnering experience.
  • Experience in cost management within a manufacturing or retail setting is highly advantageous.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make informed decisions.
  • Skilled in translating complex financial data into clear, understandable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Capable of managing details while maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Confident in presenting to and influencing senior management.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing a team.
  • Passionate about finance leadership and automation opportunities.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable and payroll processes is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Accountancy qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
