Overview

This dynamic organization is seeking to drive growth within the UK Manufacturing Sector by modernizing and enhancing capabilities and efficiencies throughout the broader UK business landscape.

We are in search of skilled and credible Senior Procurement Professionals who can adeptly navigate the landscape of Private Commercial Enterprises, particularly within Global FTSE 250 companies and SMEs that specialize in Manufacturing. A strategic understanding of Procurement regulations across Private, Public, and Government Contracts is essential. This role involves close collaboration with governmental bodies, including the Cabinet and the Ministry of Defence.

It is necessary to obtain SC Clearance for this position, and prior security clearance would be advantageous.

Key Requirements:

Working under the guidance of the Commercial Strategy Lead, there are two positions available, each integrated within one of the operational teams outlined below:

  • Testing & Trials: This role involves constructing and delivering highly sophisticated scientific and testing facilities/solutions to support future warhead solutions. This position requires the highest level of security classification, either at the start date or within six months of commencement. The facilities are closely related to pharmaceutical or data center-type solutions.
  • Metal & Materials Production: This role focuses on developing make/buy strategies for new metal production facilities and non-explosive materials manufacturing, aligning more with traditional factories or processing plants seen in UK manufacturing.

The Commercial Managers will report to the Commercial Strategy Lead and will be responsible for developing solutions that align with the needs of the Head of Strategic Sourcing.

  • Commercial Acumen: Proven experience in translating business requirements into a comprehensive commercial strategy with a deep understanding of core commercial risks.
  • Experience: Must possess experience in managing complex commercial strategies exceeding £500m, whether in construction projects or major complex programs (e.g., defense or rail projects).
  • Leadership & Influence: Must demonstrate essential skills in producing effective strategy documents, presenting to C-suite executives, and influencing decision-making processes.
  • Data-Driven: Ability to analyze business and commercial data to generate insightful recommendations.
