Role Summary

We seek skilled and credible Senior Procurement Professionals who can adeptly navigate the landscape of Private Commercial Enterprise, particularly within Global FTSE 250 companies and SMEs focused on Manufacturing. A strategic understanding of Procurement within Private, Public, and Government Contract regulations is essential. This role involves close collaboration with governmental bodies, including the Cabinet and the Ministry of Defence.

SC Clearance is a prerequisite for this position, and it would be advantageous if you already possess security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Commercial Strategy Lead, there are two openings, each integrated within one of the operational teams outlined below:

  • Testing & Trials: Responsible for designing and delivering intricate scientific and testing facilities/solutions to support future warhead solutions. This role demands the highest security classification, either at the start date or within six months of commencement. The facilities will closely resemble pharmaceutical or data center solutions.
  • Metal & Materials Production: Tasked with developing make/buy strategies for new metal production facilities and non-explosive materials manufacturing. This role is more aligned with traditional factories or processing plants typical in UK manufacturing.

The Commercial Managers will report directly to the Commercial Strategy Lead and will devise solutions that align with the requirements of the Head of Strategic Sourcing.

  • Commercial Insight: Proficient in translating business requirements into a coherent commercial strategy with a profound understanding of core commercial risks.
  • Experience: Proven track record in managing complex commercial strategies exceeding £500m, whether in construction projects or major complex programs (e.g., defense or rail).
  • Leadership & Influence: Possess essential skills to create effective strategy documents, present to C-suite executives, and influence decision-making processes.
  • Data-Driven: Capable of reviewing and analyzing business and commercial data to formulate insightful recommendations.
