AWE Plc is thrilled to announce a vacancy for a Senior Procurement Operations Manager to enhance our dynamic team, concentrating on the acquisition of significant capital projects that encompass construction, site enhancements, and asset management.

As a specialist in the procurement of intricate services and works, you will collaborate closely with the Principal Procurement Lead, overseeing a dedicated team of procurement experts to strategize and execute sourcing initiatives and supplier management, contributing to one of the UK's most pivotal infrastructure projects over the forthcoming years.


Key Responsibilities:


• Oversee and nurture a team of five or more procurement specialists within your designated categories, functioning as one of two Senior Procurement Operations Managers in a collaborative environment.


• Spearhead the formulation of AWE's procurement strategy, engage with the market, and execute tenders, employing innovative and cooperative procurement and contract methodologies.


• Develop market entry strategies that embrace contemporary procurement practices, ensuring adherence to procurement regulations and our commitments to equality, fairness, and transparency.


• Direct the procurement of complex infrastructure solutions, including strategic partnerships and alliances.


• Lead the creation and execution of pertinent procurement processes, fostering a culture of shared best practices and continuous improvement.


• Ensure compliance with governmental procurement regulations.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are eager to connect with candidates who possess:

  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating intricate contractual agreements, ideally utilizing various pricing structures and incentive models.
  • Expertise in reviewing and refining tender, evaluation, and negotiation strategies, including subcontract provisions and selection.
  • A strong background in strategic category management, with an in-depth understanding of procurement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams across diverse programs, acting as a procurement advocate and ensuring compliance with structured procurement processes.
  • Experience in a regulated procurement setting, adhering to Public, Utilities, or Defence and Security Public Contract Regulations.

Additionally, candidates with MCIPS qualifications or MCIPS Chartered status will be highly regarded.


Compensation Package:

• Salary range from £60,000 to £80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

• Location: Reading.
