About the Role

AWE PLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Manager to join our team and play a key role in the pre-contract phase of a complex infrastructure programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a structured procurement process to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the compilation of tender documentation and commercial/contract strategies to drive business growth.
  • Embed lessons learnt and analyse submissions to inform procurement decisions.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Make award recommendations to ensure the best value for the business.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in complex infrastructure/construction procurement.
  • Public sector procurement experience, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to establish and stand up new arrangements on major programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Management responsibility for a team of category managers, providing development, direction, and support.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare formal governance documents.
  • Designing costing arrangements for complex construction projects.
  • Preparing tender packages, conducting tender conferences, and developing evaluation criteria.
  • Working within a Procurement Function at senior level.
