We are seeking skilled and credible Senior Procurement Professionals who can adeptly navigate the realm of Private Commercial Enterprise, particularly within Global FTSE 250 companies and SMEs specializing in Manufacturing. A strategic understanding of Procurement across Private, Public, and Government Contract regulations is essential. This role involves close collaboration with governmental bodies, including the Cabinet and the Ministry of Defence.

SC Clearance is a prerequisite for this position, and it would be advantageous if you already possess security clearance.

Key Requirements:

Reporting to the Commercial Strategy Lead, there are two positions available, each integrated within one of the operational teams outlined below:

  • Testing & Trials: Responsible for constructing and delivering highly sophisticated scientific and testing facilities/solutions to support future warhead solutions. This role will require the highest level of security classification either at the start date or within six months of commencement. The facilities are closely related to pharmaceutical or data center-type solutions.
  • Metal & Materials Production: Focused on developing make/buy strategies for new metal production facilities and non-explosive materials manufacturing. This role is more aligned with traditional factories or processing plants typical in UK manufacturing.

The Commercial Managers will report directly to the Commercial Strategy Lead and will develop solutions tailored to the needs of the Head of Strategic Sourcing.

  • Commercial Acumen: Proven experience in translating business requirements into a commercial strategy with a deep understanding of core commercial risks.
  • Experience: Must have a track record of managing complex commercial strategies exceeding £500m, whether in construction projects or major complex programs (e.g., defense or rail projects).
  • Leadership & Influence: Essential skills to create effective strategy documents, present to C-suite executives, and influence decision-making processes.
  • Data-Driven: Ability to analyze business and commercial data to generate insightful recommendations.
