Position Overview:

We seek skilled and reputable Senior Procurement Professionals capable of navigating the landscape of Private Commercial Enterprises, including Global FTSE 250 companies and SMEs with a Manufacturing focus. A strategic understanding of Procurement within Private, Public, and Government Contract regulations is essential. Collaboration with Cabinet and the Ministry of Defence will be a key aspect of this role.
SC Clearance is a prerequisite for this position, and prior security clearance would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Commercial Strategy Lead, the role encompasses two specific areas within the operations teams:
- Testing & Trials: Tasked with designing and delivering sophisticated scientific and testing facilities/solutions to support future warhead solutions. This role will necessitate the highest security classification either at the start date or within six months of commencement. The facilities are closely related to pharmaceutical or data center solutions.
- Metal & Materials Production: Responsible for developing make/buy strategies for new metal production facilities and non-explosive materials manufacturing, focusing on traditional factories or processing plants typical in UK manufacturing.
The Commercial Managers will report directly to the Commercial Strategy Lead and will formulate solutions aligned with the requirements of the Head of Strategic Sourcing.
- Commercial Insight: Proven experience in translating business requirements into a comprehensive commercial strategy with a profound understanding of core commercial risks.
- Professional Experience: Must possess a background in managing complex commercial strategies exceeding £500m, either in construction projects or major complex programs (e.g., defense or rail projects).
- Leadership & Influence: Essential skills to create effective strategy documents, present to C-suite executives, and influence decision-making processes.
- Data-Driven: Ability to analyze business and commercial data to generate insightful recommendations.
