Lead Procurement Specialist

AWE is seeking a Lead Procurement Specialist to enhance our dynamic team, concentrating on the acquisition of capital investment initiatives related to construction, site infrastructure enhancements, and asset refurbishment, replacement, and demolition.

With extensive expertise in the procurement of intricate works and services, you will report to the Principal Procurement Manager and take charge of formulating and executing strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier relationship management, supporting one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects over the next 15 years.


Key Responsibilities:

Join a category team of five or more procurement experts, operating within a matrix structure.

Oversee the formulation of AWE's procurement strategy, market engagement, and tender execution, employing collaborative and innovative procurement and contract methodologies.

Be accountable for creating market entry solutions that incorporate the latest procurement insights, ensuring adherence to procurement regulations and our commitments to equality, fairness, and transparency.

Manage the procurement of complex infrastructure solutions, including alliances and strategic partnerships.

Assist in the development and execution of relevant procurement processes, fostering a culture that shares best practices and aims for continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with government procurement regulations and AWE's structured procurement protocols.


We are looking for candidates with experience in:

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contractual agreements, preferably utilizing various pricing structures and incentive models under NEC contracts.

Developing and implementing tender, evaluation, and negotiation strategies, including subcontract provisions and selection.

Strategic category management, with a solid understanding of contemporary procurement practices.

Collaborating in cross-functional teams across multiple programs.

Operating within a regulated procurement environment, adhering to either the Public, Utilities, or Defence and Security Public Contract Regulations. MCIPS qualification is preferred.



Compensation Package:

Salary ranging from £60,000 to £70,000, based on your qualifications and experience.

Please note that this position requires full-time onsite attendance due to the highly classified nature of the projects. The successful candidate must be able to perform all duties from a UK location and will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
