About the Role:

As the Direct Procurement Specialist, you will support the UK Head of Procurement in meeting the requirements of seven operating companies within Volution Ventilation UK (VVUK). Your responsibilities will include managing Direct Procurement spend for VVUK-based brands, collaborating with site and functional personnel to lead cross-functional and site sourcing initiatives, and ensuring key stakeholder requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source goods and services required by the business within agreed project timescales, meeting associated cost-saving objectives and key stakeholder service levels requirements.
  • Drive the use of more sustainable materials and packaging for products made in-house and by third-party manufacturers.
  • Forecast, track, and report UK cost-saving activity monthly.
  • Ensure all procurement activity aligns with the overall Procurement Strategy and centralized Procurement Policies.
  • Build strong working relationships with VVUK site teams through regular site visits and interaction.
  • Travel to key suppliers as needed to resolve emerging supply problems.
  • Participate in supplier Key Process Indicator (KPIP) reviews, ensuring effective service levels and ongoing supplier management of Key Spend categories.
  • Research, identify, and evaluate prospective suppliers, and conduct supplier appraisals as required.
  • Perform all procurement-related activities, including pre-qualification of suppliers, negotiating supplier product/service terms, conditions, quality of goods, deadlines, expectations, and pricing.
  • Manage Purchase Price Variances, maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records, and applying effective root cause analysis to mitigate risk.
  • Prepare contracts and manage tender processes, ensuring implementation within appropriate timescales.
  • Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business relations.
  • Adhere to all business policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with key company employees to determine their product and service needs.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement, driving and participating in departmental projects from conception to completion, actively monitoring and measuring progress to enhance performance and business excellence.
  • Research and identify prospective suppliers, evaluating their potential according to key business and Procurement Strategies.
  • Effectively monitor and measure supplier performance, and resolve issues and concerns using the Procurement-generated Balanced Scorecard approach.
  • Analyze industry and demand trends, supporting management in developing and implementing sourcing Procurement Strategies.
  • Analyze, manage, and track the various Procurement platforms used to mitigate commercial impact and optimize the supply chain, ensuring internal processes and procedures are developed in conjunction with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of proven work experience as a Procurement Specialist or similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.
  • Sound working knowledge of purchasing systems, processes, and technologies.
  • Highly numerate and possess excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Developed negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Approachable and flexible, able to adjust to all situations and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, ensuring timely administration.
  • Proven ability to be self-motivated and self-sufficient in taking the lead and making proposals and/or decisions.
  • Willingness to travel regularly between Southern UK sites.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ideal experience within a multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Procurement experience from the Ventilation/HVAC industry is an added advantage.
  • Ideal experience of procurement process implementation.
  • Ideal experience of e-Procurement tools.
  • MCIPS background or similar.
  • Knowledge of Epicor is desired.

Compensation Package:

  • Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
