Position Overview:

We are seeking 5 exceptional Junior Culinary Specialists eager to advance their professional journey.

This role offers an exciting opportunity within our Catering & Retail Services division at the House of Lords, where you will prepare exquisite meals in the renowned Peers Dining Room and Banqueting facilities, serving distinguished guests including members of the royal family and state officials.

As part of a unique parliamentary setting, you will work with the highest quality ingredients throughout the week, specifically from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute mise-en-place tasks as directed by your Line Manager.
  • Assist in managing stock levels, contributing to menu planning, and ordering supplies.
  • Adhere to all food hygiene and health & safety protocols set by the House of Lords.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in preparation for service.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all menus and ingredients.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in fine dining establishments is essential.
  • A professional, innovative, and creative culinary expert with the resilience to navigate daily challenges and a strong desire to learn.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to foster effective relationships and collaborate within a team.
  • Possession of NVQ Level 1 & 2 or 3 qualifications in Catering and Hospitality or equivalent practical experience.

  • Legislating.
  • Monitoring and challenging government actions through inquiries and debates.
  • Investigating public policy and providing a platform for independent expertise.
