Job Title: Early Years Inclusion Officer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Early Years practitioner to join our team as an Early Years Inclusion Officer. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in developing inclusive practice in Early Years settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and advise Early Years settings to develop their inclusive practice and individual needs of EY children with SEND.
  • Regular visits to settings, supporting groups, attending panels, and providing training.
  • Collaborate with the Early SEND Manager and Early Years SEND Lead to support Early Years settings across Herefordshire.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, the Equality Act, and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Build strong relationships with early years settings and maintain a well-organized caseload and chronologies.

Requirements:

  • A level 3 or equivalent qualification in Child Care/Early Education.
  • Recent experience of working in a pre-school environment.
  • Experience supporting early years children with additional needs.
  • An understanding of safeguarding practices and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a high level of professionalism.
