Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Years Inclusion Officer to join our team at We Manage Jobs (WMJobs). As an Early Years Inclusion Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting Early Years settings to develop their inclusive practice and provide individualized support to children with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and advise Early Years settings to develop their inclusive practice and individualized support plans for children with SEND.
  • Visit settings regularly to provide guidance and support, attend panels, and deliver training to staff.
  • Collaborate with the Early SEND Manager and Early Years SEND Lead to develop and implement strategies to support Early Years settings across the region.
  • Work closely with other services to support children and families, promoting a multi-agency approach to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Early Years settings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Keep accurate records and chronologies of casework, utilizing Excel skills to manage and analyze data.

Requirements

  • A Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Child Care or Early Education.
  • Recent experience working in a pre-school environment, with a focus on supporting children with additional needs.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, the Equality Act (2010), and the SEND Code of Practice (2015).
  • Working knowledge of the Graduated Approach and safeguarding practices, including Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with Early Years settings and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the role.
