Job Title: Early Years Inclusion Officer

Hours: 37

Salary: HC6 £25,979 - £29,777 per annum

Contract: 18 months Fixed Term

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Early Years practitioner to join our team as an Early Years Inclusion Officer. The successful candidate will have a strong background in supporting children with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in developing inclusive practice in Early Years settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and advise Early Years settings to develop their inclusive practice
  • Provide training and guidance to Early Years practitioners on strategies to support children with SEND
  • Work closely with the Early SEND Manager and Early Years SEND Lead to support Early Years settings across Herefordshire
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Early Years settings and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to SEND

Requirements:

  • A level 3 or equivalent qualification in Child Care/Early Education
  • Recent experience of working in a pre-school environment
  • Experience supporting early years children with additional needs
  • An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, the Equality Act and the SEND Code of Practice (2015)
  • Working knowledge of the Graduated Approach
  • An understanding of safeguarding practices and Keeping Children Safe in Education
  • The ability to build strong relationships with early years settings
  • To be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Keep a well-organised caseload and chronologies
